My long time best friend and his wife recently added a new member to their family…Lily! I was thrilled to take her newborn photos. For any photo geeks out there, Lily’s name in lights is not a photoshop trick, but instead a lens technique called ’shaped bokeh’. It took a little while to get it down, but we were all very happy with the result. Congrats to the Ramages!

Megan & Ryan – McMenamin’s Kennedy School – Oregon Wedding Photography

Katie & Robert – Youngberg Hill Vineyard Wedding

Over the summer I had the pleasure of photographing Katie & Robert’s beautiful wedding at the visually stunning Youngberg Hill Vineyard in McMinville, Oregon. It’s a little bit of a drive out there but the property boasts a truly breathtaking view atop a hill in the heart of wine country. I had a great time working with Katie and Robert and I had a chance to practice some of my rusty German skills with Robert and his family who flew in from Germany. Congratulations to Katie and Robert!

High School Athletic Portraits – We Are Union

Every athletic season I create portraits for the teams at the school I teach at. They are not meant to be normal ‘team portraits’ but instead are meant as marketing photos for the school and our sports program. Our school marketing centers on the ‘We Are Union’ theme and I try and make the students look as intimidating as possible in the photos. They’re a lot of fun, especially when my own students are in the photos.

Andrea & Zachary – Leach Botanical Gardens – Oregon Wedding Photography

An early summer wedding at one of Portland’s little known gems…Leach Botanical Garden’s. It’s a great venue and I always enjoy working there. Andrea and Zachary had a small, family oriented wedding highlighted by ‘props’ that Andrea had rented from a service in Seattle that rents fancy umbrellas…who knew? Luckily we didn’t need them for actual rain protection! Congratulations to Andrea and Zachary.
