Caitlin & Ronan – Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden & Gerding Theater Wedding – Portland Wedding Photography

Caitlin and Ronan were married a few weeks ago at the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens and the Gerding Theater (One of my favorite venues). You might remember this awesome couple from their two-part engagement session that included Bono the Bulldog. Caitlin planned an incredible wedding which had a very art-deco vibe to it, including handmade (by Caitlin and her sister) cloth ‘floral’ arrangements, Irish traditions, a handmade robot cake topper, and a Magnetic Fields song during the ceremony. The day started at the Iolite Salon in the Pearl. We then moved on to the Gerding Theater at the Armory where Caitlin and her Bridesmaids got ready in the cast rooms. The Oregon City Trolley then picked us up and shuttled us to the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens for the ceremony in a beautiful isolated garden area. The trolley then trucked us back to the Gerding for the amazing reception. I was very ably assisted by Lindsey of JL Christ studios for the day. We didn’t do many Bride & Groom portraits on the wedding day…because…we did a ‘day after’ session in downtown Portland including photographs inside Powell’s. These will be up soon! Tricia & Brent – Oregon Golf Club Wedding – Portland Wedding Photography

Recently I photographed Tricia & Brent’s wedding at one of my favorite venues, the Oregon Golf Club. We had beautiful warm weather, a wedding filled with family & friends, lots of bridesmaids and groomsmen and some funky dancing late in the evening. Special thanks to my awesome second photographer for the day, Maricar of Maricar Liane Photography. And since Tricia & Brent are fellow teachers (at a school that was a huge high school rival to my alma mater) I wish them both congratulations and a great school year!

Jenny & Mike – Gerding Theater At The Armory Wedding – Portland Wedding Photography

A few weeks ago I photographed Jenny & Mike’s wedding at the Gerding Theater at the Armory in Downtown Portland. I love working at the Gerding, its such an amazing building with spectacular architecture. Plus the Bride can get ready in the dressing rooms backstage which is a very cool ‘getting ready’ room. Before the wedding we hopped over to Tanner Springs Park in the Pearl District for photos of the Bride and Groom. The ceremony took place on the stairs in the theater which made for a very striking background. Jenny and Mike also had one of my favorite wedding traditions, a Hora or chair dance…the facial expressions of the bride and groom are always priceless! Congrats to Jenny and Mike! It was an honor to spend your wedding day with you.

Kennedy & Benjamin – Siam Society Wedding – Portland

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Kennedy & Benjamin’s wedding at Siam Society…a swanky Thai restaurant on NE Alberta. I was ecstatic when I booked their wedding since I live about 10 blocks away from Siam Society. The restaurant is in a very cool, historic building that used to be a power substation…lots of high ceilings and weathered concrete. Kennedy & Benjamin’s wedding had a very warm feel with friends and family helping with decorations, invitations, the ceremony and even the dress. We captured some amazing images. I really enjoyed working with Kennedy & Benjamin. Congrats!!!

Ashley & Scot – Portland Engagement Photography

Last week I met Ashley and Scot for their engagement session in Portland. We started At the Oak’s Bottom Refuge in SE Portland for some great evening light and grass fields. I even captured a rather cool sequence of photos of Ashley jumping into Scot’s arms…special surprise below. After Oak’s Bottom we headed into the Pearl District in NW Portland. Ashley and Scot were great to work with and I’m really looking forward to photographing their wedding at the Oregon Golf Club later in the year.

First, some polaroids. These were taken with my new favorite polaroid film, named ‘chocolate’. It has an amazing vintage look to it that I love.
